Amendment XIV - Citizenship rights. Ratified 7/9/1868. Note History
1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
2. Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice-President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.
3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
Last time our borders were open it was to get population here and we also had free land going out. does that mean they should get land also when they move here?
When we first inhabited this land of ours, America. we, criminals and law abiding citizens, were able to carry guns in arms reach LOADED! Should this be legal also?
Last night I was sitting here watching news and I seen all this stuff going on. immigrants become citizens? Well all educated people of America Canada is very cultural big open and free health care, If we go take over mexico, build ourselves houses and stuff, then what. When the Mexicans are done with their cocaine and beer, they'll want to ove back to Mexico. This isn't only mexicans. Illegal IMMIGRANTS. That means all foreign people without a right to be here. Its not racist, but when we go to Mexico we don't go around protesting about your government. Our Ancestors fought a Civil War for the rights that are being stripped like a 14 yr old virgin at a college dorm party!! Nothing is being done.

I am sick of it and if our government doesn't do anything about it they will finally have to answer to the power behind them. Now, your probably thinking what power, who? Im talking about you, your neighbor, me, and my neighbors. We make America. Even the rich know it!! Without the people their is no America. We also want the news to be able to show everything they get that is true without FBI, CIA, or any other Government representatives stopping it. It is our Right! our right not the worlds right. What they do is up to them.
If you are an illegal immigrant, probably not reading this, think to yourself. Do I have family here? Am I a spouse to an American Citizen? Am I a skilled worker? P.S. I don't mean driving Taxis, or picking fruit. Am I willing to Pledge Allegiance? We were founded under God. You moved here under God. Now you want rights you don't believe in. I am an American Citizen. I am an Electrician. I don't do Electrical since hard to make over $10.00 an hour. I know why employers don't pay employees more. Especially in border States. We are Americans we need to preserve the American way. Home is where the heart is.
If you do want to Migrate here their are programs and everything else you can enroll in. Our borders could not possibly be open to everyone or we would
One: Become so overpopulated Katrina would have done 1000x's worse.
Two: Have even more unemployment which would lead to crime and chaos.
three: have translator in classrooms to communicate withh all the different languages.
four: allow the next Osama Bin Laden easy access to our schools! O.K.*sarcasm*
five: Sorry to keep using you, but you are our bordering country. If I were a Mexican, and I had kids and a wife in Mexico I would cross the border freely everyday and work in Chorpus Christi. Then bring my new found American Money to Mexico where I can buy a whole cow, pig, bottle of Tequila, and some marijuana and enjoy it freely.

I just want to say as an American citizen who stems from ancestors who came here wen our borders were open. when women couldn't vote.
America changes sometimes for better sometimes for worse. We the people (registered voters) taxpayers. We have a sponsorship program! Instead of having our ,the people, Armies in other Countries why not get the illegals that are overunnung our streets. Get them out of here. then anyone illegal trying to get to our border give them a sandwich and some water and send them back!!! this comment was posted anonymously
